Application of the advanced dental local anesthesia technique in the clinical teaching of oral surgery

Abstract: The advanced dental local anesthesia technique of Single Tooth Anesthesia (STA) was widely used in the department of oral surgery in major dental schools in China. This technology had been developed to assist the dentist to provid enhanced pain relief with reduced injection pain and fewer adverse effects, and also help the patient to relax from fear. In our department, STA technology has been used in the clinical teaching, and widely accepted by the dentists, students and patients. This paper discussed the experiences and problems of the application of STA in clinical teaching.
