美国口腔颌面外科专业发展历史和现状

作者简介:陆川（1989-）,男,硕士,E-mail:luchuan1989@yahoo.cn 在20世纪90年代,对于健康的管理偏向减少治疗和降低医疗费用,因此迫使所有的外科医师重新思考而优先选择私人诊所执业。逐渐地,医院手术被取消了,医院急救电话也被废弃了,口腔颌面外科医师重新回到他们的诊所里,专心于有利可图的手术例如牙槽外科手术、牙种植手术和美容手术。曾经费尽艰辛所达到的一切如今正处于“；废用性萎缩”；的危险中,仿佛又回到了50年前刚开始的时候。

摘要： 本文通过对美国德克萨斯大学健康科学中心·圣安东尼奥分部口腔颌面外科主任和住院医师培训项目主任Edward Ellis教授的采访,详细介绍了美国口腔颌面外科教育的发展历史和现状,为我国口腔颌面外科专科教育提供参考。

Abstract: This article introduced the developing history and present status of oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty in the United States of America based on an interview of Professor Edward Ellis, who is Chair of the Department of Oral and maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas and director of the OMS residency program. This article is aimed to provide references for Chinese oral and maxillofacial surgery education.
